Spring is here, and with the warmer weather comes anticipation for summer vacation—for both faculty and students. To help pass the time between now and the end of classes, the Millbrook community gathered for Spring Carnival over the weekend, and then again on Wednesday night for prom. The gatherings gave faculty and students opportunities to embrace the incredible sense of community they’ve fostered all school year before leaving for summer.
Spring Carnival is a special weekend tradition that everyone looks forward to. Held over the weekend, the event includes lawn games on the quad, the Case Hall boys grilling up burgers and dogs, and attacks from all sorts of water warfare implements. This year we went extra big with a giant inflatable water slide. Students took full advantage, staying cool on a perfect sunny spring afternoon.
Next came prom. Vth and VIth formers and their dates picked up flowers and corsages in Schoolhouse and posed for pictures on the quad before heading to The Preston Barn at Old Drovers Inn. The beautiful off-campus venue was the perfect spot for the celebration and an ideal backdrop for photos commemorating VIth formers’ final Millbrook dance.
Memories made at Spring Carnival, prom, and the countless daily moments of community sparked on campus form the core of the Millbrook experience. These moments will be constant companions to students as they go on to live lives of meaning and consequence in college and beyond.
