First Win of the season
The Mustangs notched their first win of the season on Wednesday against a well matched Wooster squad. Madison Carpenter led the team performance, with twelve kills, five service aces, fifteen assists, and thirteen digs. Anna Coleman contributed six kills, twelve assists, and eleven digs, while Soniya Tomer added six kills, four aces, and ten digs. Ashley Slingluff chipped in six kills and nine digs. Bree Malmgren anchored the defensive effort with 18 digs and added three service aces.
As a team, we showed great improvement in serve receive with a 1.57 passing average—our highest in our matches to date. This was particularly good given that we have been working hard to improve in this area, and we faced some really strong servers in the Wooster lineup.
The Mustangs won the first set, lost the second, and rallied to win the next two sets and the match. The energy in the gym was high after this well deserved win.
