Millbrook finishes a strong third at the Gordy Glover Invitational

It was a great day for fast running at the 6-school Gordy Glover Invitational at Suffield Academy. Captain Andy Sassatelli went out strong, leading the pack after the first mile, and opening up a commanding lead in the second. Andy finished smooth and strong in 18:19, besting the next runner by a minute and a half. Sass is back! In the number two spot for Millbrook was Joiee Downs, who had after competing in a softball tournament that morning, hopped out of her family's car literally two minutes before the starting horn. Downs took only the first straightaway to get loose, and she ran a great race, finishing in 22:34, well over a minute faster than her time on this course a year ago, and a second faster than her 5k PR! Flying across the finish next for Millbrook was Trinity Robinson, who also bested last week's time and enjoyed beating some of her former teammates from Hamden Hall. Mallory Cassidy and Emily Goico rounded out the squad, each posting strong finishes and improved times from last week. Congratulations! We're looking forward to another fast course at Hotchkiss next weekend.
