Alumni Mustangs Spring into Action

Aaron Case
Hundreds of alumni Mustangs are currently playing in college and the pros—and 20 more from the Class of 2026 committed to NCAA programs. Here are some alumni highlights from the spring sports season:

2 Alums Sign ECHL Contracts

Zach Bookman ’20 and Jake Percival ’21 both inked contracts with ECHL teams in April. Zach joined Indiana’s Fort Wayne Komets, which are affiliated with the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers. Jake headed to South Carolina to play for the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, the Los Angeles Kings’ ECHL affiliate, providing reinforcement as they began a stretch of four games in five days.

After Millbrook, Zach matriculated to Merrimack, playing for the Warriors for three years before transferring to Western Michigan University for his senior year. The defenseman blocked 144 shots in his college career while netting 16 goals and 63 assists. He tallied his first professional assist in Fort Wayne’s final game of the regular season and added a goal in four playoff games.

Jake played all four years of his college hockey career at the University of Connecticut. A forward, he racked up 25 goals and 32 assists in 138 games played for the Huskies. He found the back of the net in his second game with the Swamp Rabbits for his first professional goal:

Alumni Netting Goals in MLS

Ousseni Bouda ’19 and Shakur (Shak) Muhammed ’21 are two of the greatest soccer players in Millbrook Mustang history. Now they’re showing out in Major League Soccer (MLS).

A forward on the San Jose Earthquakes since 2022, Bouda is having the best year of his career. In 15 games (13 starts) in the 2026 season, he’s netted five goals—including his first career brace on April 19 against Los Angeles FC:

With Ousseni helping lead the attack, the Earthquakes are 10-3-2. They’re tied for the lead in the Western Conference with Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

Over in Nashville, Shak Mohammed made his MLS debut on April 18. The forward made the most of his debut, scoring his first MLS goal late in Nashville SC’s 2-0 win over Atlanta United.

With a record of 10-3-1, Nashville sits atop the Eastern Conference. The team acquired Shak from MLS NEXT Pro squad Orlando City SC in the offseason, giving him an opportunity to shine on the big stage.

Jazmin Mejia Makes All-Freshman Team

In just one year at Millbrook, Jazmin Mejia ’25 made an oversized impact on the softball diamond, rewriting the Mustang record books and leading the girls to the 2025 WNEPSGSBA Championship game. Unsurprisingly, she’s already making a name for herself at UNC Greensboro, earning Southern Conference All-Freshman Team honors.

Jazmin played 51 games for the Spartans in the regular season, starting 42. She slashed .245/.333/.302, striking out only 10 times in 106 at-bats. Playing in the infield and outfield, she posted a .944 fielding percentage, helping her team to a 39-17 record and a first-place finish in the Southern Conference.

Jazmin and the Spartans won the Southern Conference Championship Tournament, earning a trip to the NCAA Regionals. After defeating Clemson in the first game, they lost to No. 16 Georgia and then were eliminated by Clemson. Jazmin went 2-for-3 with an RBI in the final game.

LAX Alumni Make Centennial Conference First Team

Millbrook lacrosse stars Ben Dale ’24 (Franklin & Marshall) and Ethan Kessler ’22 (Gettysburg) capped off their 2026 seasons in college in a big way, earning Centennial Conference First-Team honors.

An attacker, Ben amassed a team-leading 30 goals in 16 games for the Diplomats. The sophomore also led the team with 48 assists and 101 shots. He scored a season high four goals in a game against Ethan’s Gettysburg Bullets.

A senior, Ethan was named to the Centennial Conference First Team for the second year in a row. The attacker racked up 28 goals and 19 assists, and his SOG percentage was tops among the Bullets’ full-time players. He was also named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Blatant Lacrosse Division III All-America Team.

Millbrook community members in the Hudson Valley and New England areas will be happy to know that watching Suwaibatu take the pitch for the Wild will be easy. The team plays road games in New Hampshire, Connecticut, and New York—their schedule can be found here.
