List of 4 frequently asked questions.

  • What is one of your favorite subjects to teach and why?

Rather than a specific subject, I would say that the Millbrook campus is my favorite PLACE to teach! My classes incorporate a sense of place learning so that content is rooted in meaningful experiences. I hold as many classes outside of the classroom as I do inside the classroom, with our 800-acre campus as a textbook.
  • What college did you attend?

I attended Cornell University where I earned my B.S. in Natural Resources, with a concentration in applied ecology and an honors research distinction.
  • What did you enjoy most about being a student at Millbrook and how did your experience as a student impact the teacher that you are today?

I remember reading the cover of the viewbook when I was first learning about Millbrook. It said something like, "never again will so many people be dedicated to helping you succeed." Reading it as a teenager who was unfamiliar with the Millbrook community I thought it was a cliché overstatement, but after years of being a student here with so many supportive and involved adults, this statement became very true for me. I still have a copy of that exact viewbook in a place where I see it every day since I am now one of those adults helping students find their success day in and day out.
  • What is your favorite quote?

"Wherever your career takes you, whether into academia or otherwise, stay restless." - EO Wilson
