Mixed Doubles at Kildonan

The boys and girls JV tennis teams joined forces today to take on a co-ed Kildonan team. Millbrook won all three doubles matches, but lost the singles matches. We would have played a tie-break, but had to hustle back to campus for an all school forum with Cambodian Activist Arn Chorn Pond! John McGuiness and Stella Jalai made a great team winning their match at number one doubles. Raphaella Pope, one of the youngest players on our team, got to take on a leadership role in her match with Sean Ryan. They played an inexperienced, but athletic opponent and Raphaella had a blast teaching her opponents the about the game while gracefully competing. Nicole Quintanilla du Toit's match at number two singles was by far one of the most entertaining of the season. They played fearlessly, daring each other to win with beautifully placed shots. Nicole did not win the day, but it was as close of a match as you've ever seen. Overall, it was a very fun afternoon of tennis and we're excited to host Kildonan for a rematch in just a few weeks.
