Fall all-star season has arrived, and individual accolades are rolling in for the Millbrook Mustangs. Eight of our top varsity student-athletes have been selected to play in prep school all-star showcases around New England, with representatives from the field hockey and girls/boys soccer teams:
Field Hockey
Both team captains in their VIth form year, Averell Wood ’26 and Ann Perreten ’26 were selected to play in the Western New England Prep School Field Hockey Association (WNEPSFHA) All-Star Game.
The teams were made up of top players from Class A, B, and C schools, and Averell and Ann were part of the winning squad.
Girls Varsity Soccer
Merritt Tessier ’27, Audrey Lepore ’27, and Lily Kennedy ’27 were chosen to play in girls varsity soccer all-star contests.
Audrey made the Women’s Western New England Prep School Soccer Association (WWNEPSSA) All-Star game, which took place on Sunday, Nov. 9, but couldn’t play due to injury.
Lily will play in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Junior All-Star Game at Deerfield Academy on Sunday, Nov. 16.
Merritt made both the WWNEPSSA and NEPSAC Junior All-Star squads. She scored a goal in the WWNEPSSA game and will look to find the back of the net again this Sunday.
“Congratulations to the three girls for stepping up when the overall season was filled with heartache,” said Girls Varsity Soccer Head Coach Gordie MacKenzie ’79, referencing a slew of injuries that kept the girls from competing at full strength for much of the season.
Boys Varsity Soccer
This Sunday’s NEPSAC Senior All-Star Game will feature Frankie Lombardo Jr. ’26 and Ajak Dau ’26, while Marcus Paul '27 will compete in the NEPSAC Junior All-Star Game.
The three all-stars were part of a team effort that catapulted the Mustangs from a sub-.500 start in their first 9 games to the No. 4 seed in the upcoming NEPSAC Class C Tournament.
