Everyone contributes

In a matchup against Class A Brunswick School, the Mustangs were playing with an adjusted lineup because of a few minor injuries. Unfortunately, the boys in blue took another hit as skilled striker and senior leader Oliver Hougland had to come off for the game early in the first half.

However, this has been a season where the reserves, who prepare so well, have had to step up, and that they did. Fifth formers Joey Tanski and Adrian He helped fill in at a couple of different positions, while IIIrd former Caleb Harrison spent some time up front. Marcus Paul (Vth form) got the home side on the board first with a stunning rocket off his right foot that beat the Brunswick keeper low in the right corner of the goal. Millbrook held a 1-0 lead at the half.

The second half brought some more switches in the lineup. The cool, calm, and collected Harrison stepped onto the field to work up front with Paul. Just past the 60-minute mark, captain Ross Ezrow made a great foray down the left flank and drove toward the end line with the ball. He hit a firm cross on the ground through the six-yard box, and there was the composed Harrison, who clinically finished what would become the game-winning goal.

Despite a Brunswick goal that put the fans on edge, senior captain Kevin Fajardo and his back line of Frankie Lombardo (VIth form), Eli Weisman (Vth form), and Hector Stephenson (VIth form) worked with keeper Paul LaPage (Vth form) to bring home the 2-1 victory.

Saturday is the final regular-season home game for an incredibly dedicated group of seniors. We kick off at 1:30 p.m. against St. Luke's School (CT).
