Millbrook vs. Hotchkiss

The better team won when Hotchkiss finally broke through late in the second half to break what had been a one-sided tie.  Millbrook had spells of good possession, particularly in the first half, and a few dangerous counterattacks, but Hotchkiss took the game over to start the second stanza, and it was only a matter of time before they found a player to finish, and find him they did when Henry Ross struck with a powerful header off a corner kick.  Millbrook pushed forward for the equalizer, but then it was Hotchkiss’ turn to counter, which they did successfully with two minutes on the clock.  The home team played hard thoughout and had much to be proud of.  John McCulla was probably the best player on the field for either team, defending ferociously and raining long throw-ins into the box at the other end.  He had great support from Jay Livermore and Peter Fox, while Zack Fuller and Corey Marx caused problems in midfield.  Luke Stuckey played beautifully in the nets before being knocked out of the game before halftime, and Chase Cochran kept up the standard for the rest of the way.
