Millbrook Vs. Hotchkiss
After a solid performance on Saturday against The Study School, the Lady Mustangs took on the Bearcats of Hotchkiss. Unlike with The Study, we knew what to expect from Hotchkiss – a team that would be fast, well skilled and well coached. While the final score suggests otherwise, Millbrook had its share of solid play and quality soccer. After spotting Hotchkiss a 4-goal lead in the first half, Millbrook regrouped at half-time and came out determined. Two minutes into the second half Millbrook got on the board with Claire Bould (’08) scoring on a beautiful through ball from Co-captain Lulu Carter (’07). Millbrook had a couple more chances after that, but were unable to convert. On the other end of the field, Millbrook’s defense worked tirelessly to stop the persistent wave of Hotchkiss’s offense. In the end, Hotchkiss netted 2 more goals to secure the win. Millbrook’s goalie and Co-captain Devin Hardy (’08) was tremendous in goal as she recorded 16 saves. Next up, archrival The Gunnery.
