The Boys JV Lacrosse team lost a close game against Salisbury last Monday. We were short on players, with only two subs on the sideline, and found ourselves without any substitutions late in the game due to a couple of injuries. The team dug deep to gut out the rest of the game, but Salisbury was able to utilize their bench to post the 4-3 win.
Lucca Vellano stepped into goal for us for his first game between the pipes and turned in a solid performance and played with confidence. Reid How scored all of our goals with some aggressive play and his willingness to shoot. We had a strong defensive showing from all three long poles. Robbie Plummer, Wyatt Sabine, and Abbott Cooper played with tenacity and helped Lucca in net by preventing many opportunities that Salisbury would have otherwise had.
Donovan Ramos also put in an incredible effort in midfield as he stayed on the field most of the game. Donovan continually got back on defense, helped move the ball upfield, and was always a concern for Salisbury's defense when he was in the offensive zone.
Also notable was the effort and energy Zane Williams put in pressuring Salisbury's defense and fighting for ground balls in the attacking third of the field. A solid work ethic was on display from Zane whenever he was on the field.
The team travels to Suffield Academy this Saturday, May 2nd.
