Classy Close

Joe Raciti
The mustangs closed out their epic season with class.
It was a beautiful day for our last soccer game of the season. The coaches were incredibly impressed by the way the team played, especially in the moments when they had a chance to show kindness. We want to highlight Lachlan Whelan, who took the opportunity to ask if an opposing player was okay after a collision. Lachlan also flashed a genuine smile for a younger teammate who subbed him out in the last few minutes of the game, saying, "Go get em', Trey." These kinds of moments, which happened often throughout the year, allowed the coaches to see that we had a special team. You have to have a heart to play with heart; the Millbrook squad has heart to spare.

Scoring his fourth goal in three games was Leo Hou, who hit a swerving strike into the top corner of the net from way downtown. Captain Michael Philipp proclaimed the goal to be the best in the history of Millbrook thirds soccer. If Big Mike says it is so, it must be.

Coach Moon and I are super proud of our team, and we are grateful to our fans and all the great coaches and players we encountered on our journey. The "champions" (team nickname) have each been given guidance about what they can work on during the off season. We can't wait until next year, when we aim to be the most exciting team to watch on campus.
