A Quick Test and Immediate Improvement

After Rumsey took a quick lead, Millbrook settled into their game and tied the second half.
With most of the squad relatively new to soccer, the team looked to Rumsey as an initial test of the fitness and skill work they'd been dedicated to in practice. While Rumsey took a quick lead, our team settled into their game and determined to both stall Rumsey's attack and build from the defensive shape to create a handful of scoring opportunities in second half of the game. Kathrine Joseph scored our goal with an assist from CC Fougere. Other standout players included Bea Rotkiewicz as a stalwart in the midfield, Sherry Yang and Annabelle Pratt holding things down at center back, and Maizey Lamb for her fearless and energetic play on the wing. However, kudos need to go to Brooke Sheftel for stepping into goal for the first time, and, in addition to her numerous saves, finding both her voice and presence in that position. Well done, all!
