Team To Watch

Returning Millbrook boys thirds soccer captain Michael Philipp reminded the Mustang squad on the bus to the game that we lost to Hotchkiss by 13 goals last year. When our other captain, Lachlan Whelan, put the ball in the back of the net in the first few minutes of the game, it was clear to everyone that this was a completely different team. The Millbrook boys played with incredible grit and class. Near the end of the game, Whelan was called for a foul. He quickly managed his frustration and then returned to the player on Hotchkiss he had fouled to ask if he was okay. The exchange ended with a fist bump between the opposing players. It was a beautiful moment and exactly the kind of leadership we love to see from our captains. We are proud of our players and believe we have a fantastic season ahead of us.
