The Girls JV soccer team opened up their season in a scrimmage with Hotchkiss. The Lady Mustangs had a strong showing in their first game. The team was victorious by a score of 4-1.
Amelia Ferris scored just minutes into the game to get Millbrook on the board. Shortly after, Bria Horsley found the back of the net to put Millbrook up 2-0. Hotchkiss would put one past goalie Sarah Collins just prior to the half.
Millbrook added to their total in the second half. Morgan Wilm made the score 3-1 and Fran Gottwald made it 4-1 with a successful penalty shot. The score would stand at 4-1 at the final whistle.
The Lady Mustangs won with a complete team effort. The defense (Carolina Calero, Hannah Hill, Emily Hoffman, and Laurel Stine) played a key role in the victory. The Mustangs play again on Wednesday when they host Indian Mountain.
