Playing Under Pressure at Suffield

The Millbrook girls traveled to Suffield Academy for a double header with the Varsity and JV teams. It was a victorious day for both squads, making the ride home in a coach bus feel all the more luxurious! Suffield's JV squad came armed with a strong goaltender, a relentless work ethic and a deep bench of players. Millbrook's midfield did a great job of controlling possessions off the draws. Our defensive game showed great improvement. The girls were able to slow down many Suffield fast breaks and force a number of turnovers. Efforts by Antonia Koslowski, Kaitlyn Pike, Adelaide Armah, and Simone Yañez set the defensive bar high!

Suffield's defensive strategy was aggressive! Our girls were notably shaken at first (just ask Anni Elwell who took a few checks near the face!), but they kept their composure. Our offense did a great job of working the ball around the arc and opening up opportunities for each other in front of the net. Suffield's goalie held them in the game, but Millbrook patiently and persistently chipped away until the final buzzer.
