PRs and fast times for Millbrook girls at Hotchkiss
A small but mighty squad raced especially well in the co-ed field on Hotchkiss's groomed course.
Joiee Downs was the first girl in for Millbrook, and the 5th girl overall at Saturday's Family Weekend race. She ran her miles with notable consistency and finished in 22:35, a PR for her at the 5k distance. The pack of Ingrid Schmitt, Eloise Hegeman, and Jaicee Downs was back, finishing as the 7th, 8th, and 9th girls respectively. Schmitt's battle to the finish line was especially powerful. Anya Kelmanovich, Millbrook's 5th runner, finished in 23rd overall in 30:06, her best time of the season. The girls earned their long weekend!
Congratulations to Andrea Sassatelli, who took 25th at the girls' Eastern States Championship race at the Manhattan Invitational at Van Cortland Park this weekend. Sass ran a smoking 15:38 in the 2.5 mile race.
