Dealing with injury and illness, the Millbrook boys IIIrds team found a way to win.
One day after a tough match against the Rumsey varsity team, and missing a full ten players to illness, injury, and prior commitments, the Mustangs rolled into Connecticut banged up but determined to grind out a victory. The team was supported by outstanding performances from several key players who were on the field for the full 70 minutes of the game.
Scoring for Millbrook were two such players: Luke Molland (two goals) and Trevor Klug. Goalie Miles Proctor had an outstanding game, making a crucial save in the first half that looked like something you might see on a YouTube highlight reel. Yet again, we were left feeling like we had learned something valuable about our team, and we look forward to testing a new strategy in practice. Coach Moon and I remain inspired by our players. We're grateful to the Frederick Gunn team for hosting us on a gorgeous fall weekend.
