Millbrook School: Better by Design CES

Jess Piard came to Millbrook as a IIIrd former with interests in basketball and drawing. Her CES, Material Girl, presents her Holbrook-made passion for photography and asserts her creative goals. Her CES presentation began with a well-researched and clearly-presented summary of color theory that provided a lens through which to view Jess’s photographs and a means by which to gauge her artistic progress.

For her CES, Jess conceived, coordinated, and executed multiple photo shoots on campus and then in New York City over spring break to build her portfolio and experience. An internship granted her exposure to industry professionals and her work was widely published, an amazing accomplishment in the crowded and competitive world of fashion. Jess plans to continue to study photography in college and is never, ever without her camera.
