Student Portfolios

Millbrook’s visual arts faculty works closely with students who demonstrate a passion for making art. At the beginning of these students’ VI form year, they gather their work and photograph it with the help of the department chair, Sarah MacWright. After they photograph the physical pieces — paintings, drawings and ceramics, for example — they have a conversation about the work and which pieces best represent their efforts and interests. Portfolios are a critical element of these students’ college applications, whether or not they choose to apply to art schools. In addition, the process of creating a portfolio allows each artist to track their personal growth during their time at Millbrook.
