Frederick Gunn scored quickly to take a lead and then widen the lead by 3 in the first 7 minutes of the game. However, Millbrook found a way to play through the deficit, and for the next two periods, a different Mustang team showed up. They moved the puck together and several players demonstrated grit and heart in their backchecking, forechecking and verbal support on the bench. In particular Stever '25, Murphy '24, and J Smith '26 stood out in this way. Goals were scored by: P Smith '25, Stever '25 and Pannacciulli '24.
The game is an important and meaningful game for the Mustangs as it commemorates the life and contributions of former Athletic Director and Girls Hockey Coach Ed Allen who passed away 8 years ago. His wife and daughters take part in a ceremonial puck drop and a thoughtful trophy presentation at the end of each game. The game is a testament to strong bonds within our community and the lasting impact Ed Allen had on the program and the school.
