The Mustangs came out hard from the start. Though Pomfret was beating Millbrook to the ball initially, Millbrook refocused, settled and began to play the game with more composure. Jasiel '24 made a beautiful push down the field, dodging defense and playing the ball wide into the corner, then crossed the ball and Jones '25 buried it with a great shot to take the lead with just a few minutes left in the first quarter. In the second quarter, Ainley '25 knocked in a rebound and soon after Newman '24 scored, assisted by Trocchio '24. The team held the 3-0 lead for the remainder of the game with strong defensive play, some key saves by Zorub '25. It was an exciting win for the team: a testament to their ability to make each other better all season long.
