In their final home meet, Millbrook bests Gunn but falls to a strong Hoosac squad

Coach Havard
The team celebrated its seniors, four-year runners and captains Aiden Corbin, Juliet Drury, and Sarah Eagen, as well as three-year veterans Angelina Huang and Tracy Yin.
With hail falling and winds blowing at the starting line, what else could Millbrook do but go for it? The girls and boys went off together on Wednesday, November 1st, in the final home race and meet of the regular season. In a rematch against Lily Czub of Hoosac, Juliet Drury was a few yards behind at the one mile mark and appeared to be straining. Beyond the hill, however, Juliet found another gear, passed Lily and began to put distance between them, as she pushed to close the gap with Jack Evans, her teammate and the winner of the boys race. Juliet crossed the finish in second behind Jack, in 20:56, her PR on the Millbrook course by 35 seconds!

Jaicee Downs and Selina Hung ran close together for much of the race and finished just seven seconds apart as the two and three runners for Millbrook girls. Next to cross was Ingrid Schmitt, breaking up a Frederick Gunn pack and cementing Millbrook's victory. Following her were Angelina Huang and Sarah Eagen - three seconds apart, and in an especially strong time by Angelina. Aiden Corbin crossed about 20 seconds later, followed by Linna, Du Tracy Yin, and Nga Ho. Millbrook turned tough conditions into a great day of racing, and the sun came out for shared refreshment with Frederick Gunn and the senior presentations.  Millbrook has a bye this weekend and races at Division 3 New Englands next Saturday.
