Lady Mustangs Show Improvement During Loss

Gordie MacKenzie
The Lady Mustangs played host to Class B opponent Kingswood Oxford on a cold and partly snowy day. The girls came out strong and dominated play for the majority of the game. Unfortunately, two lapses in coverage early on, gave the visitors the early lead. Rather than fold, the girls dug deeper and worked hard to find the back of the net themselves. Millbrook would outshoot KO but their keeper was a one of the best keepers I have seen in the league in a very long time. Special shoutout goes to backup keeper, Kat LaFond, who came off the bench at the start of the 2nd half and helped the team to stay in the game; in particular she made an incredible diving save to push the ball outside the goal post. While the loss gets recorded, the coaches were pleased with the overall play of the team and hope to use this game to spring board into the final 4 games of the regular season. Next up, Master's (NY).
