Millbrook Girls post fast times at Hotchkiss

Coach Havard
Hotchkiss School's rolling, grassy course proved ideal for the top six Millbrook girls on Saturday, October 14th. While large Hotchkiss and NMH squads beat us score-wise, Millbrook held our own with individual performances, a strong pack, and unbeatable fans! Juliet Drury faced off against Hotchkiss #1 runner Caleigh Lane on Lane's home course. At the first mile, Lane had a 50 meter lead, but coming off "cardiac hill" just before the two mile mark, Drury began closing in. Juliet passed Caleigh on the long gradual uphill in the third mile and won the race by 13 seconds, in 20:16.6. Jaicee Downs finished 13th overall, breaking up a formidable NMH pack and notching her fastest time of the season in 24:25.1. Selina Hung cemented her spot as Millbrook's third runner, finishing 23rd in 26:23.7. Aiden Corbin, Ingrid Schmitt, and Sarah Eagen took 26-28th, racing together in a strong pack for much of the race. So many thanks to our intrepid fans - the Eagens, Downs, Eatons, Drurys, Corbins, Schmitts and Mesards, who traveled over from Millbrook on our family weekend. You made a big difference!
