Millbrook vs. Kent

The Millbrook girls had a tall order on Saturday night going up against last years division 1 New England champions, Kent. The first period started off with some back and forth play at a very high pace. Kent outchanced the Mustangs but were unable to crack Catherine Champagne despite having multiple grade A chances. Kent broke the ice with 9 minutes remaining in the first battling in a rebound. Then a couple minutes later Kent followed it up with a powerplay goal. The first ended with a score of 3-0 with Kent beginning to tilt the ice. Millbrook came out in the second and bottled up Kent for a good portion of the period and generated some great scoring opportunities but couldn’t find the back of the net, not even with a couple chances on the powerplay. The score would hold until with around 4 minutes remaining in the game Millbrook took a major penalty and lost one of their top D and penalty killers. Kent put one in on the following powerplay and scored again with 4 seconds left in the game to make it a final of 5-0.
