Williston too tough today
The team traveled by coach bus to Wiliston with the lacrosse team today with a 4 and 0 season on the line. Conditions at match time were exceptional as the doubles began. Right away it was evident that this was a top team. Colin and Dan fought hard but lost 8-1, Sam and Bud dropped their match 8-4 and without our #5 player, the new team of Yassin and Nick played well but also lost 8-5 giving the home team the doubles point.
Highlights from the singles matches included Sam's 3 set battle with a super consistent player who kept the ball in play relentlessly and ultimately prevailed at #3, and Alex Kaye's remarkable 3 set win at #6 to avoid the sweep and leave the Mustangs with a positive feeling to head home with. Although the final was 6-1, this was a much closer match than the score and had we been full strength, who knows?
