Check Mate - Storm King.

The boys played their season opener at home today versus a tough Storm King squad from Cornwall, NY. Doubles were up first; Dan Feigelsen, our new 4th form addition, played #1 doubles with Collin Tardio which turned out to be an excellent match with some amazing points. The mustangs clinched the doubles point with this match winning 9-7. The other two matches went quickly with 8-0 and 8-1 wins coming from Sam and Bud at #2, and Will Simons and Drew Deery at #3. Yassin and Nick held firm at #4 exhibition doubles with a decisive 8-3 win. Singles matches started quickly after intros and the Mustangs jumped out to an early lead. Dan at #2 singles, Sam at 2, Will at 4, Bud at 5, Drew at 6, all won their matches in straight sets without giving up more than 3 points per set, giving the home team the win. Alex and Toby also won their exhibition matches. Match of the day though was Collin at #1 singles who was up against an exceptional foreign recruit. Collin played the match of his life and with a huge level of confidence and grit, pulled out a miraculous 10-8 in the third win in front of a very supportive home team hillside crowd. Final 7-0 Mill.
