Students in Millbrook Farm Community Service Raises Money for Dutchess Outreach

Students in the Millbrook Farm community service raised over $600 for Dutchess Outreach over Parents Weekend by selling fresh herbs, vegetables, and plants that were grown and harvested from the Millbrook Farm. Dutchess Outreach is a not-for-profit organization that works to revitalize communities, advocate for and provide hunger relief, and offer healthy food options in the Dutchess County area.

An abundance of green beans, tomatoes, brussel sprouts, peppers, honey, garlic, and more, were all available for purchase. "We look forward to this fundraiser annually," said Millbrook Farm Director Lyuda Pope, "not only because we are able to raise funds for a good cause, but also because it allows our parents to see the results of the ongoing efforts of their children in the farm community service program."

Students are now turning their attention to preparing for the colder temperatures of late fall and winter. Read more about how students farm during all of the seasons here.
