a superb finish and a tournament berth

John Siegenthaler
Yesterday afternoon, the boys journeyed to Suffield and earned a decisive victory over the Tigers. The boys played a superb game against a skillful and determined opponent. Running into a significant wind in the first half, we none-the-less controlled play and denied Suffield any momentum. Neither team managed a goal until the 25th minute when Mohammed scored on a beautiful pass from Bouda. Suffield roused themselves and pulled even in the 35th. Less than a minute later, Bouda scored our second which proved to be the game winner. The Mustangs maintained their focus and energy in the second, scored another two goals as insurance and came away quite satisfied with their efforts. All played exceedingly well – standouts include Domber and Mohammed in the midfield, Colman and Day in the back, and Sosnow and Bouda up top. Oberfeld came up big on several occasions to stymie Suffield’s efforts to get back in the game.

The victory brought our record to 12-4-0, the best regular season record in recent memory. With it comes an invitation to the New England C Division tournament as the number 1 seed. We will host Greens Farms at home on Wednesday, November 14th.
