Better second half

Joel Bergstedt
Not playing or practicing much since last Thursday impacted our performance, but we stepped up the effort in the second half and made a game out of it.
Jake Percival did amazing in goal again for us in the first half. He had countless incredible saves as defensivley we could not match the Hotchkiss attack. Despite his efforts, we were down 5-0 at half. Not the best way to start a game, but we put it together more in the second half. Ashton Colangelo used his pace to keep up with Hotchkiss' talented center-mids and Ramsey Morris gave us more of physical presence in the back during the second half. Maarten Rosse and Apirith Sothea also gave the team a needed spark on the flanks. Justinas Norkus did awesome in goal the second half, and while he made short work of any high shots, at 6'9'' was surprisingly catlike on the low ones as well. Once we got the defence sorted out, we started to make a more concerted attack and with less than a minute left Pearson Latse made a run on the left side beating 3 Hotchkiss defenders and was then fouled at the top of the box. He took the kick, which went through the Hotchkiss wall. The Hotckiss goalie made the initial save, but Jack Hamilton, after having pushed up from an outside back position, was at the right place at the right time and buried the ball in the back of the net. Hoping we can carry the positive energy from the second half forward to our last game this Saturday at Salisbury.
