a slump?

John Siegenthaler
Our first game of the season on McWilliams Field did not turn out as we had hoped Wednesday, when a strong Kent side managed to outlast us and win, 2 – 1. We took the field with enthusiasm, quickly controlled play and had several early chances to score. The two sides traded goals midway through the half, ours a beautiful feed from Tardio to Bouda. However, under pressure from an aggressive and chippy Kent team, we lost our confidence and made mistakes. After falling behind in the second half, we shook ourselves and fought back. The most notable among our chances came as a result of Schwartz’s superb play and near goal. Colman and Day continue to play outstanding soccer in the back; Mohammed was everywhere in the midfield. Nevertheless, our efforts were not enough this afternoon to pull out the win.
