Rory Gagnon '14 Named NESCAC Tournament MVP

Rory Gagnon is currently a junior at Hamilton College, and he's leading his Continental teammates to a terrific start on the ice.

Just this weekend Hamilton College men's hockey outscored their opponents 7-2, including a 4-1 defeat over the hosts in the championship game to win Skidmore College's Thanksgiving Invitational in Saratoga Springs, NY on Sunday. Rory was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player after recording a hat trick in Saturday's 3-1 win over SUNY Canton and scoring the game-winner in Sunday's contest against Skidmore. Hamilton is now 3-0-1 after tying Amherst in their opening game.

Following this weekend's contest, Rory was also named the NESCAC men's hockey Player of the Week. From Hamilton's men's hockey site: "The 5-foot, 11-inch forward is tied for the conference lead with five goals and is tied for third in the NESCAC with six points. Gagnon has 13 goals and 18 assists for 31 points in 51 career games at Hamilton."

Rory played soccer, hockey, and golf at Millbrook, captaining the latter two teams his senior year and helping the boys get to the quarterfinal game in the New England Tournament. He was consistently recognized as an athlete who was willing to put in 110% to improve and further develop his skills. That story continues to unfold at Hamilton. Stay tuned for more on Rory and his certain successes on the ice this year and next.
