a win at home

On a cold day and a bumpy field, the Mustangs took on The Gunnery in our last home match of the regular season. Although our plan was to get off to a fast start, things developed a little more slowly than expected. The teams traded possession and scoring chances for most of the first half. We were fortunate to get on the board first when Moir forced Gunnery to make a serious defensive mistake, leading to a goal. Bouda then put two in before the half, including one set up by a nifty pass from Madsen. We opened the second according to the original plan. Bouda scored in the forty sixth minute and then again in the fifty third. In so doing, he broke Millbrook’s career goal scoring record held by Edward Opoku. The lone Gunnery score was bracketed by goals from Rode Viesca and Sosnow, first goals of the season for each. Down the stretch, we got strong play from Moriarty and Madsen in the midfield. Grossman played some of his best soccer of the season at striker. Tuke turned in another superb performance in the net.
