streak snapped

The boys faced off against a strong and mobile Brunswick team this afternoon, ending up on the losing end of a 4-2 score. Brunswick had the run of play in the early going and managed to get on the scoreboard with two goals midway through the half. A late goal by Bouda brought us to within one but the real thriller to this point was Oberfeld’s spectacular save on a PK to keep the score at 2 - 1. The early second half was a seesaw affair; Brunswick scored another and Bouda answered. As the half wore on, the Mustangs pressed and controlled the play for long stretches of time. Unfortunately, as we pushed forward, Brunswick’s big #10 got behind the defense with less than 2 minutes to play and scored his 4th of the afternoon.

Darmon was our player of the match and Oberfeld was also honored for his superb play. Colman and Moir were also stand-outs. Davis entered the game in the second half and provided both determined play and inspiration to his teammates.
