Mustangs Blank Lions

On a beautiful, sunny Wednesday afternoon, The Lady Mustangs played host to the visiting Lady Lions of Kent. Like a bunch of lion tamers, the girls possessed the ball for most of the game.  However, while the play of the game was under Millbrook's control, Kent's defense held strong and managed to turn away wave after wave of attacking soccer. The first half would end in a  0-0 stalemate.

The second half was not much different until newcomer, Jalia Musah '21, received a pass inside Kent's box from Suwaibatu Mohammed '19, beat a couple of defenders, and hit a hard, low shot by Kent's diving keeper for the only goal of the game. As the second half whined down, Kent would have a couple of looks but they were either far or wide.

Millbrook's netminder, Elise Almgren '20 recorded 2 saves on the day, and her first career shutout.

The Lady Mustangs will return to action this Saturday as they play host to Class C rival, The King School.
