Mustangs Fall to St. Luke's in Championship

The Millbrook Varsity Softball team lost to St. Luke's, 9-3, in the WNEPSGSBA championship game at Millbrook on Sunday. The Mustangs hung with the talented St. Luke's squad for most of the game, with the two teams trading runs back and forth. St. Luke's had a big fifth inning, however, and though Millbrook kept hitting the ball, the Mustangs couldn't manage the comeback. Millbrook came to hit - the Mustangs made solid contact all day and did not strike out once. Riley Croghan '18 and Maya Holmes '17 each had RBI doubles (Holmes had a pair of doubles for the day) and Devyn Farrell '20 had an RBI single. Croghan struck out eight St. Luke's players. The Mustangs had a fantastic season, finishing 9-4 overall and making their first championship appearance in four years. Special thanks to our senior captains, Maya Holmes and Kat Mackey.
