Late Rally Comes Up Short
Millbrook travelled to Berkshire on Wednesday for a make-up game from two weeks prior. The game held playoff implications, as the winner would secure the #2 seed in the Young Division of the W.N.E.P.B.L. with a Canterbury loss.
Both teams came out determined, relying on strong pitching and defense to quell potential rallies through the early innings. Berkshire took a 3-0 lead with 2 in the 4th and 1 in the 5th.
Down to their final 6 outs, the Mustangs rallied, plating one run each in the sixth and seventh, and put the tying run on second base with nobody out. Unfortunately, the one hit they needed eluded Millbrook and they fell 3-2.
