Mustangs Defeated 13-1 by Cheshire
The Millbrook varsity softball team fell 13-1 to a talented Cheshire squad on Wednesday. The injury-depleted Mustangs held off the Cheshire attack for a few innings, but Cheshire's good hitting was eventually too much for Millbrook. Riley Croghan '18 was her usual stalwart self on the mound (9 strikeouts and no walks) and at the plate (4-for-4 with a double). Maya Holmes '18 had an RBI and a pretty sacrifice bunt and played some good defense at second. Patricia Smith '17 also did very well defensively at third. Sam Besca '18 scored Millbrook's run when she got on base via walk and moved around on hits by Croghan and Holmes. The Mustangs will look to bounce back on Saturday against Hotchkiss.
