Regular Season Opener

The Mustangs came out ready to start the regular season on the right foot. Right off the first face-off the game was fast and high intensity. As Millbrook worked to sort out the defensive zone and calm play down, Taft capitalized and scored on their 6th shot on net. Taft went up 2-0 with 7:46 left in the first period however, with less than two minutes left in the first, Emma Gotthelf`19 put one in the net during a scrum in front - assist from Devyn Farrell `20. Play continued to go back and forth with plenty of opportunities by both teams. The second period ended 4-3(Taft) with Millbrook goals by Farrell`20 (a, Gotthelf`19, Bailey Tymeson`20) and Taylor Ham`17 unassisted. While the battle continued, Millbrook was unable to find the back of the net again. Taft was relentless with over 17 shots in the third period - ending the game 6-3. The score does not reflect the effort and attitude that Millbrook displayed throughout the game and the 50/50 battles won all over the ice. Kudos to Katie Bishop-Manning`17 for a heck of a game in net for the Mustangs.
