Late Game Comeback Falls Short; Mustangs Fall 67-61

In a fast-paced and physical game, Millbrook came up on the losing end of a 67-61 decision against Berkshire on Wednesday afternoon.  The Bears and the Mustangs were evenly matched for much of the first three-quarters of the game, trading buckets and defensive stops as two heavyweights trade punches.  A well timed Berkshire run built upon offensive rebounding, rim attacks, and key Millbrook miscues gave the green and white an 11 point game with just over 4 minutes to go.  With their backs against the wall, Millbrook employed full-court pressure to claw back into the game.  Alas, the comeback came up short after Millbrook failed to convert two layup attempts in the waning moments of the second half.

Brendan Hoban led all scorers with 25 points.  Jayden Reaves chipped in 15 points while Kasai Brown and Chris Reed chipped in 9 points and 8 points respectively.  Tau Loving and Josh Gray both added 2 points.  Will Isler and Dylan Cox both gave great minutes off the bench.

Millbrook will travel to the Zero Gravity Prep Showcase at Saint Andrew's School in Rhode Island for two games this weekend.  On Saturday, 12/3 Millbrook will take on Class B favorite Rivers at 8:45.  On Sunday, 12/4 Millbrook will face a non-NEPSAC opponent, Bill Crothers Academy out of Ontario, Canada.
