Coaches Profile: Ugo Okolie, Boys Varsity Soccer

Mustang varsity boys soccer has been steadily building a stellar record as playoff potentialities take shape. In his fourth year as head coach, Ugo Okolie built the program on accountability, resilience, and passion. “With my lifelong love of soccer and having had the privilege of playing at very high levels, I bring a wealth of experience to the team,” said Coach Okolie. “After college I worked alongside some of the finest prep school coaches in the country, and I am forever grateful for that.” He continued: “This experience enhanced my playing skills and deepened my ability to impart game knowledge to younger players.”

Practices are intense, structured, and fun with a competitive vibe that fits neatly into Coach Okolie’s “firm belief that a strong team culture lays the foundation for success." The acronym ISI, which stands for Iron Sharpens Iron, is emblazoned on practice jerseys and wristbands and signifies "the idea that we should strive to uplift and improve one another, both on and off the field, every single day.”

Coach Okolie’s dedication to his squad and commitment to coaching excellence are evident in the chemistry on the pitch and the squad’s regular post-season appearances. In the home stretch of the 2023 campaign, playoff momentum is building!
