Millbrook vs. Gunnery

The Ed Allen Cup started off with a back and forth first period. The Mustangs came out a bit nervous, but Catherine Champagne ’20 was an absolute brick wall in net. She took control of the game and got her teammates to bring the energy for the second and third periods. After a scoreless first period, the Mustangs would turn up the heat and take a 2-0 lead. The first two goals were scored by Jeannie Wallner ’21 and Nikki Bessinger ’21, to give the Mustangs the momentum heading into the third period. As the third period began, the Mustangs never looked back. They maintained offensive-zone possession, to create a very frustrated opponent. Three more Millbrook goals by Georgia Franco ’21, Julia Zangre ’22 and Jeannie Wallner ’21 earned the Mustangs a 5-0 win. The team played with confidence, intensity and pride. For the second year in a row, the Ed Allen Cup will stay with Millbrook and find its place back on Cody Allen’s shelf.
