Mustangs perservere for a 50-42 Victory: Kimora Jenkins scores her 1000th High School Point

Millbrook did not have their A-game and found a way to win against a disciplined and well-coached Kingswood Oxford Squad. Millbrook jumped out to a 13-10 lead with easy layups off of aggressive defense and well-executed ball movement. The momentum continued to go the Mustangs win early in the second quarter as Vth former Kimora Jenkins scored her 1000th career point. Following a timeout, KO went on a run and found themselves up 26-25 heading into the half. The 3rd quarter looked like it was about to go the way of the Mustangs, and then KO found a hot shooting stroke, and Millbrook found themselves in foul trouble. With Millbrook down 2 with 2 minutes left in the quarter, the Mustangs used a lineup of Kate Peek, Lili Westerhuis, Sophie Stark, Evelynn Najork, and Zoe Tucker made some excellent defensive stops, executed an exceptional baseline out of bounds, and took the lead for good at 39-37 heading into the 4th. The 4th quarter was Millbrook's best defensive quarter, and despite not having their best offensive game, they were able to pull away 50-42.

After the game, Kimora received the game ball and adorations of her teammates. Kimora was incredibly humbled and spoke eloquently about her gratitude for her current teammates, coaches, parents, as well as former teammates and coaches. A well-deserved honor for a wonderful young woman.
