Great Team Win to Start the Season

Coach Bergstedt
After only having a couple of practices together, the team played hard and showed good resilience to come back and win after giving up a lead in the second half.
The first half ended with Millbrook ahead 1-0 after a goal from Gordon Lock off of a penalty kick. We had most of the possession in the first half and manged to keep the ball on the Gunnery end of the field. We tried players in some different positions to start the second half, which hurt us in the back and went down quickly 2-1. Ethan Kessler and Colby Martins got back in the game and gave needed support to the defensive flanks while Ramsey Morris and Asthon Colangelo gave us stability in the center. Jack Hamilton also gave a solid performance in the right back position. Gordon Lock then got another goal off a cross from Connor Brissette to bring things level, but Gunnery then went ahead again by another goal. Connor Brissette came to the rescue again to tie it up 3-3 with a great heads up play in which after intercepting a clearance from the Gunnery Goalkeeper and recognizing the GK was out of position put a flighted ball into the upper corner. Then, with less than a minute left on the clock, Nathaniel Clizbe got behind the Gunnery defense at midfield and upon reaching the penalty area was fouled in the box just before the buzzer sounded. The referee pointed to the spot and again Gordon Lock put in the penalty kick to get a hat trick for the game and give the team the win.
