More PRs at New Englands NEPSTA Division III Cross Country Championships
Coach Havard
Millbrook Girls cross country finish the season with some strong performances.
Millbrook Girls and Boys cross country traveled to the Boston area for the Division III cross country championships. Hosted by Rivers School, the race was held at Weston high school on a completely flat course, making for fast times in spite of the wind and frigid temperatures. Anna WIlson '21 went out first for Millbrook and was in 24th at the first mile. She finished in 22:46, her best time of the season, and we're excited for what her future holds. Next in were seniors Ella Horn and co-captain Kerry Carr, both in the 23's ,both toughing out considerable pain and running courageously. Without Lillie Marcos, and with Raph Pope fighting lingering illness, the team relied on others to step up, and Cindy He, Claire Kissane and Clare Carty did not disappoint. All ran PRs on Saturday, with He peaking in 24:14, and Claire and Clare in the 25's. Raph Pope fought as hard as she could to give us a 7th finisher. Dorothy Walker was Millbrook's representative in the jv race and did us proud, clocking in at 25:22 and taking 26th place, the highest finish of the day for Millbrook girls. Congratulations to all for the hard work and genuine improvement this season. And congratulations to our boys for taking 5th place overall, and to Kazuki (3rd) and Mateo (20th) for making the top twenty!
