Millbrook Students Honored at Regional Scholastic Art Competition
Seventeen Millbrook photography students were recently honored at the Regional Scholastic Art Competition.
The competition, which was hosted by SUNY New Paltz, welcomed students in grades 7-12 to apply in 29 categories for a chance to earn scholarships and have their works exhibited or published.
The competition was founded by the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, a non-profit organization founded in 1923. This organization offers a variety of programming and competition opportunities annually, and past participants include Andy Warhol, Philip Pearlstein, Cy Twombly, and more.
Millbrook students earned both Silver and Gold Key awards, and those who received Gold Keys will move on to be judged at the national level. Millbrook's award recipients included:
Gold Key Recipients
Emily Le (awarded three Gold Keys)
Silver Key Recipients
Thomas Coleman (earned two Silver Keys)
Olivia Garip-Davies (earned two Silver Keys)
