Don't fret at Pomfret

The team traveled to Pomfret today but were down two key players. Both Zack H (#1) and Isaiah M.(#3) were out of the line up but the remaining players didn't fret and were still confident going in. After a long, 2hr and 45min bus ride, the boys shook off their bus legs and the evens got to work.   Henry R. (#2) had a very tough match and extended to 4 but succumbed to a very talented player. Dylan S (#4) ripped through his opponent in 3 games while Zack Tuke won a close battle at (#6) in 4 games. With the score 2-1 at the turn, the boys needed two more wins. Rjay played excellent squash at #1 against a highly ranked player (and son of the coach) but fell in 3 to even the score at 2. After losing an exhibition match, Bud played his #7 match and went the distance before losing his composure in the 5th. Teddy at #3 played brilliantly and crushed his opponent in 3 evening the team match at 3. It all came down to Sam R's match at #5. Sam struggled early and went behind 2-1 but regained his form to force a 5th. With the match on the line, Sam was determined to succeed and played his best squash when it counted, winning 11-8 in the fifth. Final 4-3 Millbrook.
