Saturday night, Millbrook welcomed Tilton to Bontecou Rink, after a long drive through winter weather and traffic. From the start of the game, both teams battled for 50/50 pucks and opportunities all over the ice. The first period finished 0-0 with 12 shots for Millbrook and 11 shots for Tilton. The effort by both teams made it very clear that it was only a matter of bounces before someone hit one home. The second period would pick up where the first left off. Both goaltenders making great saves and making it a fun game. With 6 minutes left in the 2nd, Tilton found the back of the net and again 2 minutes later. Millbrook quickly responded 40 seconds later when Devyn Farrell `20 pressured the net hard to get on the board. Tilton squeezed one more in before the end of the 2nd making it 3-1 in their favor. Heading into the 3rd, Millbrook came together and decided to keep the pressure on and play until the end. In a period of true effort and attitude by all, Millbrook was able to find the back of the net two more times - once by a hard outside shot by Kaitlyn Pike `18 and another quick shot in the high slot by Kerry Carr `18. In attempts to tie it up, Millbrook pulled Bishop-Manning. Tilton placed one past Millbrook making the final score 5-3. Kudos to Bishop-Manning `17 for a strong net in goal, Ellie Muckstadt `18 for constant pressure all over the ice, and Chloe Robinson `17 for strong defensive game.
