A Fantastic Fall Arts Night!

The Millbrook community enjoyed the first Arts Night of the 2016-2017 academic year on October 14th. The event included a creative lineup of vocal, dance, music, and improvisation performances.

“With each Arts Night we have students who are up on stage for the first time and students who are veteran performers. All are welcomed, and the performance levels are so incredible,” said Arts Department Chair Sarah MacWright.

Improvisation students kicked-off the event and acted as MCs by introducing each following performance. Third Form Chorus sang This is Halloween before Kerry Carr '18 and Roan Scnalon-Black '19 presented an emotional scene from The Cuckoo Sisters.

There was also a variety of instrumental and dance performances, including a short student-choreographed dance inspired by the connectivity of the human body.

"Our choreography students also reflected on the concepts of team versus individual and then rehearsed a dance to express these ideas," said Director of Dance Leighann Kowalsky. "It was a very appropriate first performance, as our first Arts Night marks our the first time our students work together collectively to produce a show," she said.

Ultimately, the evening was very entertaining and enjoyed by all, and we thank our students who shared their talents on stage. Visit our photo gallery and Millbrook in Motion for photos and video from the event.
